SJS | PARENT TEACHER GROUP

The purpose of PTG is to first and foremost support our students! Our efforts to raise funds and support the faculty, staff, ultimately create a stronger community within our school, something we are very proud of at SJS! In order for us to be successful, parent involvement is critical. There are several opportunities to show your support and be active this year.

PTG MEETING MINUTES

 

PTG LEADERSHIP COMMITTEE 2023 - 2024

PTG President: Staci Hart

1. Leadership: Provide overall leadership and guidance to the PTG, setting goals and priorities for the organization.

2. Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for communication between the PTG, school administration, parents, and the community.

3. Meetings: Plan and lead regular PTG meetings, setting agendas, facilitating discussions, and ensuring productive outcomes.

4. Committee Coordination: Along with the SJS Director of Marketing and Enrollment, oversee and support various committees within the PTG, such as fundraising, events, advocacy, membership, and volunteer coordination.

5. Fundraising: Organize and lead fundraising activities to generate resources for the PTG's programs and initiatives.

6. Advocacy: Represent the interests of SJS families, advocating for their needs and concerns within the school and community.

7. Parent Engagement: Encourage and promote parental involvement in school activities, fostering a sense of community and collaboration.

PTG Vice President: Meghan Magnasco

1. Support the President: Assist the President in their duties, providing support and stepping in when needed.

2. Leadership: Assume leadership responsibilities in the absence of the President and collaborate with other PTG officers.

3. Committee Coordination: Oversee and coordinate specific committees or projects within the PTG, ensuring their smooth operation and progress.

4. Meetings: Help plan and organize PTG meetings, including setting agendas, preparing materials, and facilitating discussions.

5. Communication: Assist with communication efforts, such as sending out newsletters, updating the PTG website page

6. Fundraising: Work closely with the fundraising committee to plan and execute fundraising events and initiatives.

7. Membership Recruitment: Support membership recruitment efforts, encouraging parents, teachers, and community members to join and actively participate in the PTG.

8. Parent Engagement: Promote and facilitate parental involvement in school activities, encouraging parents to contribute their time and skills.

PTG Secretary: Stacy Hastings

1. Meeting Minutes: Record and maintain accurate minutes of PTG meetings, documenting discussions, decisions, and action items.

2. Documentation: Maintain official records and documents of the PTG,  meeting agendas, minutes, reports, and membership records.

3. Calendar and Reminders: Help maintain a calendar of PTG events, deadlines, and important dates, and send out reminders to members and committees.

4. Committee Support: Provide administrative support to PTG committees, such as helping with meeting logistics, documentation, and communication.

5. Transition and Succession: Assist with the transition of PTG officers, ensuring that records and knowledge are transferred to incoming officers effectively

Staff Representative:  Laurie Hagele

1. Correspondence: Handle incoming and outgoing correspondence on behalf of the PTG, including emails, letters, and other forms of communication.

2. Fundraising: Along with the PTG President and Vice President, organize and lead fundraising activities to generate resources for the PTG's programs and initiatives.

3. Membership Recruitment: Support membership recruitment efforts, encouraging parents, teachers, and community members to join and actively participate in the PTG.

4. Parent Engagement: Promote and facilitate parental involvement in school activities, encouraging parents to contribute their time and skills.

Lead Room Mom: Christina Giordani

1. Serving as a point of contact and coordinator between the teachers, other parents, and the school administration. 

2. Helps organize, plan & communicate on classroom activities, field trips, special events, and volunteer opportunities. 

3. Attend PTG meetings for monthly updates

4. Works closely with PTG President for any assistance needed from PTG on school activities 

5. Work with the PTG to identify volunteer opportunities within the school, such as classroom support or extracurricular activities.

6. Help recruit and coordinate volunteers for school events and activities.

SJS Family Liaison: Meredith Huetter

1. Works closely with SJS Principal and manages communicating with families in need during difficult times. This includes, but not limited to sending cards (sympathy , get-well, congratulations, thinking of you), creating meal trains, obtaining and delivering donations, etc.

2. Attends PTG monthly meetings for any updates & school communication
